SUP yoga is a gentle, restorative practice that challenges balance and pushes boundaries. It is more of a chill slow flow experience, but will be somewhat challenging due to the fact that you will be moving on water. This class is suitable for all yoga levels, and will come with plenty of options to make it more challenging or more relaxing depending on your mood. Your teacher is Abby, an e-RYT 500 yoga teacher with 10 years of experience who believes accessibility and inclusion is crucial in yoga spaces.
1 Stand Up Paddleboard. Yes, this is a BYOB situation! (you can rent by the hour at nearby Moss Bay for $25 /hour or consider ordering an inflatable one online, where you can find options for fairly low prices)
Ability to swim, basic water safety skills. There is a good chance you will fall off your board during class. You are more than welcome to wear a life vest for peace of mind and safety.
Time to get situated. I suggest arriving 15-30 minutes early so that you can inflate your board if needed, and paddle to the yoga class area, which is just to the right of South Lake Union beach, accross from MOHAI, right beside that little bridge. (See map photo). It iwll take about 5 minutes to arrive at the yoga spot from the little beach.
Proper clothes that you can move in, and don't mind getting wet. This could be athletic gear or swim gear, even shorts and a t shirt.
Be sober enough to drive. If you don't feel you would be safe to drive on the land, it's not safe to maneuver a vehicle in the water, either.
To fill out the safety/ consent form, which is a few quick clicks on a google form.

Experience a nourishing yoga flow taught with a heavy focus on audio description by a trauma informed teacher that invites you to connect more with yourself, your body’s possibilities, and exploring self acceptance. Integrated yoga is yoga that integrates blind and sighted people together experiencing dhyana, or gazing inward. This practice emphasizes the importance of connection and exploring internalized biases on and off the mat.
